Dan is a Texas-born, NYC-based writer and editor covering drink, travel, food, and culture. He was most recently the Deputy Digital Editor at Saveur magazine, and previously served as Digital Community & Commercial Editor and Assistant Food & Drink Editor at Time Out New York.
Nowadays, Dan’s writing appears in GQ, Food & Wine, Paper Magazine, Vice Munchies, Architectural Digest, Gotham Magazine, Eater, Playboy, Liquor.com, Chefsfeed, and many more. In May of 2018, Dan was named recipient of The Spirits Business' annual Alan Lodge Young International Drinks Writer Award. In addition to editorial work, Dan serves as PR director for Nguyen Coffee Supply, New York’s first importer and roaster of Vietnamese coffee beans.
Prior to pursuing journalism, Dan worked in restaurant & nightlife PR and also has ten years of experience in the hospitality industry as a barista, bartender, and consultant. You can find him moonlighting behind the stick at Middle Branch in New York.
Dan is a native of Houston and a graduate of New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. He is the proud son of Vietnamese refugees.
